Overview As Life Support Maintenance Manager, you oversee maintenance, training, and readiness of combat diving systems and ROVs used by NSW entities. You will develop end-user training curricula and deliver instruction to ensure operational proficiency. You support engineering and leadership with technical guidance and help drive future technology integration. This role blends hands-on maintenance with program management and training within a mission-focused team.
Responsibilities- Maintain and advance combat diving systems, ROVs, and related equipment; ensure proper issuance and operational readiness
- Develop and deliver curricula for end-user training on propulsion, navigation, communication systems, SHIELD SCBA, and ROVs
- Provide training and certification, maintain training records, and suggest improvements
- Report deficiencies and alterations; support WARCOM and NSWG-2 LOGSUPPU programs
- Offer technical advice to engineers and leadership on maintenance procedures, testing, and evaluations
- Support development of future technologies and equipment upgrades
- Maintain accurate inventory and accountability of equipment
- Travel CONUS/OCONUS to train personnel and gather insights on emerging technologies
- Produce written reports and conference summaries; ensure documentation is thorough and actionable
- Ensure compliance with NOSSA transport/storage requirements and obtain factory-trained certifications for underwater systems
- Maintain licenses (forklift, government vehicle/CESE) and meet onboarding prerequisites
Key requirements- Active security clearance (shown as required/contingent-on-contract)
- Navy Dive School certification (NEC 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or equivalent)
- Minimum five years as a certified diver (5342 / M1DV or USCG OPSDC) or higher
- 3M Maintenance/QA qualifications (3M Maintenance Person, 3M QA Craftsman, 3M Work Center Supervisor)
- NAVEDTRA 43910-(Series) qualification
- Minimum three years NSW experience
- Forklift license (up to 6,000 lb)
- Ability to obtain and check out government vehicles/CESE
