Sr. Security/ Technology Engineer

Job description

Overview

In this role you design and plan complex building security, communications, life safety, and electrical systems for new and renovated facilities. You'll lead multi-project efforts, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure design quality, code compliance, and on-time delivery. You'll work within NV5's Technology & Acoustics studio to deliver best-in-class solutions that improve client operations and safety. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement after an initial in-person onboarding period.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field surveys, studies, reports, and engineering deliverables
  • Prepare and manage concept through construction documentation, specifications, and close-out for projects
  • Direct CAD documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and BlueBeam for project records
  • Ensure code compliance through oversight and knowledge base
  • Manage schedules, budgets, and vendor research
  • Coordinate with engineering and architectural design teams and guide clients through technology selection
  • Review drawings for bidding and permitting; perform construction administration and punch list creation
  • Supervise staff engineers and project communications
  • Support business development and stay updated on new technologies and standards
  • Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and meets NV5 quality standards
  • Travel to project sites as required and support field activities
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years in engineering, design and construction
  • Professional Engineering licensure or eligibility
  • Strong planning skills and ability to manage budgets and schedules
  • High proficiency in BlueBeam and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication with project management tools
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in hybrid environment
  • Professional integrity and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to drive or travel as needed
  • Lansdale, PA on-site onboarding for 90 days; NY location compensation range stated
