Overview In this role you will lead a team of underwriters to analyze complex SBA and commercial credits, recommend structures, and make credit decisions. You'll drive team performance, ensuring client expectations are met and goals are achieved, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of SBA procedures. You will collaborate with stakeholders to balance risk and relationships and guide the team through high-impact underwriting challenges. Responsibilities- Lead and review underwriter output, manage daily workflow
- Coach and evaluate team performance on technical and relational aspects
- Apply underwriting tools for conventional and SBA-backed credits
- Analyze complex opportunities, structure and risk-rate credits
- Interpret credit policy and financial data for client presentations
- Collaborate with underwriting, credit officers, and relationship managers
- Own assigned portfolio and respond urgently to client needs
- Maintain currency with SBA SOP requirements and updates
- Develop relationships with Commercial Banking leadership
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Seven (7) years of SBA or commercial loan underwriting, analysis or portfolio management experience
- Ability to work on complex loan files and interpret financial data
