Overview As an Estimator / Quotations Specialist, you develop quotations for Waterworks projects and collaborate with branches and vendors to ensure accurate, timely pricing. You will engage with partners and clients to determine scope and requirements, monitor market costs, and support project execution with solid cost estimates. Your role helps Ferguson deliver reliable, cost-aware solutions while aligning with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities- Gather data for quotes and enter new quotes; contact vendors for pricing
- Collaborate with partners and clients to define project scope and requirements
- Track market trends, product updates, and pricing data
- Follow up on quotes and obtain material pricing from vendors
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely pricing data
- Resolve pricing-related issues affecting quotes
- Analyze specifications and drawings to inform cost estimates
- Assess cost-effectiveness and monitor actual costs versus bids during projects
- Submit completed quotes and coordinate with sales representatives, builders, or designers
- Communicate with owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes to estimates
- Maintain bid calendars and update Salesforce for project tracking
- Develop knowledge of products and customers through collaboration with brand/product managers
- Recommend products/services aligned with client needs
- Assist Project Managers with project execution per management methodology
- Identify resources needed to complete projects
- Build and maintain relationships with major accounts/customers
- Participate in pricing-related corporate initiatives
- Share concerns and participate in associate meetings
Key requirements- Construction-related quotations or estimating experience
- Waterworks product knowledge preferred
- Planswift or similar estimating software experience a plus
- Familiarity with customer quotations software preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, or drawings preferred
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Flexible, multitasking capable with ability to handle urgent requests
- Self-starter, creative problem solver, and self-sufficient
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical and user-friendly language
