Responsibilities- Design and develop engineering plans and drawings, including preliminary layouts and final construction documents
- Supervise structural assessments: condition evaluation, load capacity, service life, rehabilitation and renewal analysis
- Plan and oversee production of drawings, specifications, investigations, and planning work
- Lead junior professionals in bridge design and drafting
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to align with scope, budget and schedule
- Assist in project scope, cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and budgets
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
- Apply quality management procedures across design phases
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
- 8+ years of relevant experience in structural bridge design and inspection
- Illinois SE license required or able to obtain within 6 months
- Illinois NBIS Team Leader certification preferred
- Experience with Illinois DOT standards and project procedures preferred
- Familiarity with highway engineering policies and regulations
- Proficiency with bridge design software and related tools
- Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
