Overview In this role, you will serve as a scientific liaison to advance understanding of UCB's epilepsy and rare syndromes portfolio within the Great Lakes region. You will build peer-level relationships with KOLs, investigators, and health-system stakeholders to inform medical strategy and improve patient care. You will deliver balanced scientific exchanges and contribute to medical insights, while representing UCB at conferences and supporting investigator-initiated research. The position blends scientific leadership with cross-functional collaboration in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities- Maintain deep therapeutic-area expertise and monitor current data, treatment options, and competitive landscape in epilepsy and rare syndromes
- Develop trusted, peer-to-peer relationships with stakeholders (KOLs, investigators, IDNs, payers, patient groups) and tailor engagement plans
- Provide scientific exchange and value propositions; address medical information inquiries and deliver audience-tailored presentations
- Generate and communicate medical insights to inform strategy and tactics, including input for Standard Response Letters
- Represent UCB as a scientific expert at conferences, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and educational programs
- Identify and support research/educational collaboration opportunities; feasibility assessment and IIS liaison support from inception to publication
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Medical, RWE, access, and other) to enhance patient care and support access engagements
Key requirements- PhD, PharmD, MD, DPM, or DO (Doctorate degree)
- 2 years of medical affairs experience in biopharmaceutical industry
- Must reside within the assigned territory
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel 60-80% in the territory
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent collaboration and cross-functional teamwork
- Ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly in 1:1 and group settings
- Relevant therapeutic area experience in epilepsy and rare syndromes
- Understanding of health economics and clinical trials basics
- Ability to generate medical insights for strategy; familiarity with IIS processes
