Overview

In this role, you will serve as in-house counsel to Lyft's product, partnerships, marketing, engineering, and public policy teams. You will shape legal strategy for new products and partnerships, balancing risk with business goals in a fast-paced environment. You will partner with cross-functional teams to guide product development and marketing initiatives from ideation through implementation. This position offers impact across the company by enabling innovative products while managing legal risk with pragmatism and clarity.

Responsibilities
  • Advise product teams during development, launch, and operation of new products and features across multiple lines of business
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex partnerships and technology agreements; act as primary counsel for partnerships from ideation to implementation
  • Provide practical legal guidance in a fluctuating, fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and serve as the voice of Legal in product development and related marketing initiatives
  • Develop and drive long-term legal strategies balancing risk and business objectives
  • Prioritize workload to meet goals amid shifting business priorities
  • Assist other teams with projects as needed
Key requirements
  • Law degree and active bar membership in at least one state
  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department; experience with tech product development or partnership integration is a plus but not required
  • Excellent problem-solving, judgment, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Strong track record with commercial agreements and customer-facing terms
  • Willingness to explore new areas of law and work independently while being a team player
  • Ability to think quickly, manage multiple priorities, and maintain composure under pressure
