Overview In this role you will shape SpaceX's IP strategy for semiconductor manufacturing, aligning IP assets with engineering goals and manufacturing plans. You will work with engineers and legal counsel to secure rights, assess IP risks, and guide manufacturing strategies. You'll lead complex tech transactions, licenses, and agreements while developing playbooks to scale IP across global initiatives. This position places you at the intersection of technology, law, and supply, enabling critical decisions that support SpaceX's manufacturing ambitions.
Responsibilities- Develop and manage SpaceX's IP portfolio related to semiconductor manufacturing (patents, trademarks, trade secrets)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify assets and assess impact on business outcomes
- Coordinate with legal counsel to secure IP rights for manufacturing processes
- Assess cost and risk of IP strategies and advise leadership
- Create IP strategy playbooks and training materials
- Negotiate with vendors for IP purchases or licenses
- Develop and negotiate complex tech transactions, including equipment and joint development agreements
Key requirements- 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- 3+ years in the semiconductor industry
- 2+ years working with senior executives in the semiconductor field
- 1+ years of experience with governmental regulation as it relates to semiconductors
