In this role you will lead the service department to drive operational success and profitability, shaping a high-performing team that delivers exceptional guest experiences. You will collaborate with parts, shop leadership, and management to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction, while upholding Asbury's values and safety standards. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire service department and drive operational success
  • Manage team schedules and pay plans
  • Forecast department goals and work to meet them
  • Coordinate with Parts Manager for timely parts turnaround
  • Collaborate with shop foreman to service vehicles promptly
  • Attend and lead service department meetings
  • Prepare and administer annual operating budget for the service department
  • Maintain service gross profit growth and technician proficiency per standards
  • Partner with technical schools to recruit technicians and with OEM/third-party vendors
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints
  • Motivate, train, develop, and reward employees
  • Communicate maintenance and service needs clearly to customers
  • Maintain company values, quality, and integrity; ensure a safe workplace
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Key requirements
  • 3+ years as an automotive Service Writer/Service Assistant Manager
  • Previous automotive Service Management experience
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience with CDK or other automotive software
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Proven track record to grow the fixed operation business via CSI, advertising, and shop utilization
