Overview

As an Independent Contractor, you apply OSHA Lockout/Tagout expertise to provide safety consulting, audits, and training for diverse clients. You develop and maintain training curricula, deliver onsite and remote sessions, and produce advisory reports on regulatory updates. You work independently within J. J. Keller's safety practice to help clients reduce risk while expanding service offerings. This role leverages your technical know-how and self-directed consulting practice to drive client outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safety consulting and educational services to clients across onsite, off-site, and internet-based delivery within defined project scope
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain training curricula and instructional materials for general and client-specific applications
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments per regulatory standards and client requirements
  • Monitor regulatory changes relevant to the scope and update deliverables and training content accordingly
  • Communicate regulatory updates, recommendations, and findings to designated client contacts via reports, briefings, or presentations
  • Provide advisory support to interpret regulatory requirements and their practical application without taking on client compliance enforcement
Key requirements
  • Experience providing safety consulting, regulatory advisory, auditing, and training services related to OSHA lockout/tagout (29 CFR 1910.147)
  • Experience writing machine-specific LOTO procedures for large-scale projects (200+ equipment)
  • Experience delivering LOTO training and developing facility- and role-specific content
  • Proven history of independent safety consulting within consulting or complex corporate environments
  • Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and finance concepts for running an independent practice
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite to deliver reports, presentations, and training materials
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with client representatives at all levels
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle for required services
  • Maintains a high level of regulatory expertise
