Overview In this role you lead the pricing function for Group Health, Nationwide Pet, and Specialty Insurance, shaping pricing strategy and driving profitable growth. You will influence senior leadership, translate actuarial insights into action, and oversee a high-performing pricing team across multiple product lines. The position blends strategy with analytics to balance growth, profitability, and risk while delivering strong customer value. You will work cross-functionally to align pricing with regulatory standards and business objectives, making a measurable impact on financial outcomes.

Responsibilities- Lead pricing strategy and rate directions for Group Health, Nationwide Pet, and NSI to enable profitable growth and competitive positioning
- Develop pricing tools and analytics (rate indications, models, segmentation, profitability studies) to inform decisions
- Monitor portfolio performance and post-launch results; propose pricing/product actions to improve long-term outcomes
- Collaborate with business, finance, underwriting, actuarial, analytics, and technology to translate insights into action
- Advise leadership on balancing growth, profitability, risk, and capital; support approvals for major pricing decisions
- Identify and mitigate pricing-related risks, regulatory, reinsurance, and financial reporting implications
- Lead and develop the pricing team, including recruiting, performance management, and talent development
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned
Key requirements- Undergraduate studies in actuarial science, advanced analytics, finance, mathematics, economics, or related field with strong quantitative orientation; graduate degree preferred
- FSA and MAAA designations preferred
- Typically 10+ years in pricing, actuarial, product, or analytics with prior management experience
- Strong communication skills to defend business cases and present to executives
