Overview As a Multimedia Journalist Reporter, you produce and present compelling news content for broadcast and digital platforms. You will research, shoot, write, and edit stories, coordinating interviews and ensuring accuracy and editorial quality. You'll craft reports for multiple channels, engage audiences on social media, and deliver under tight deadlines. This role supports the local newsroom's mission to inform the community with clear, engaging storytelling across all platforms. You will work closely with producers and editors to shape impactful stories.
Responsibilities- Produce and present news reports for broadcast and digital platforms
- Shoot and edit video from on-site events
- Arrange interviews and gather information from sources
- Write and edit stories for web and eMedia
- Review notes and refine content to fit time and editorial standards
- Pitch story ideas and evaluate leads/tips with editors
- Collaborate with producers to set priorities and deadlines
- Engage with audiences on social media and monitor feedback
- Meet editorial quality and company standards for integrity and production
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Fluency in English
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting
- Excellent oral and written communication; able to ad lib
- Strong on-air presence
- Proficiency with basic office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- Valid driver's license with clean record
