Overview In this role you lead a civil construction team in road, bridge, utilities, and site work in the Greater Chicago Area. You'll drive schedule, cost, and field coordination to deliver projects safely and on time. You partner with engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors to translate drawings into reliable plans and payments. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position at the intersection of design, field execution, and client goals.

Responsibilities- Review drawings and specifications to guide work
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules that are cost- and resource-loaded
- Prepare monthly schedule reports and narratives
- Create two-week look-ahead schedules
- Prepare construction plans and safety procedures
- Generate and track cost reports and labor productivity reports
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and other transmittals using project management software
- Determine quantities and prepare monthly payment requisitions for Owner and subcontracts/purchasers
- Review and approve material and subcontractor invoices
- Supervise project engineers/field engineers and coordinate with superintendents
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Heavy civil construction background with 10+ years field experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Primavera P6 knowledge is a plus
- AutoCAD or MicroStation knowledge is a plus
- Ability to make decisions and work independently
- Ability to meet critical project deadlines
