Overview In this role you will drive the insurance and risk management program for large-scale data center development projects. You'll work with cross-functional teams to manage transitions to property coverage, oversee risk transfer setups, and support project financing diligence. You will influence program design, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and mentor teammates to strengthen the organization's risk posture. Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day insurance and risk management activities for domestic and international development projects
- Manage Owner Master Builder's Risk Program enrollment and transition to property coverage for data center assets
- Direct the completion and submission of applications and disclosures for coverages; negotiate terms
- Collaborate with Real Estate Program Management, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Development, EHS, and Procurement to coordinate insurance management
- Lead insurance transitions at key milestones and track milestone dates
- Manage engineering support of the global property program
- Support international expansion initiatives
- Serve as primary contact for Lender Insurance Advisors during project financing; coordinate with Capital Markets, Legal Finance, and external partners for diligence
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, insurance products, and emerging risks
- Research and evaluate insurance solutions including Owner Controlled Insurance Programs
- Develop and deliver training on insurance requirements, claims processes, and risk mitigation
- Analyze and report loss trends and insurance metrics to senior management with actionable insights
- Coordinate with brokers, insurers, and third-party advisors to optimize program structure and cost efficiency
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of risk awareness
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Seven or more years of experience within the insurance industry
- Real Estate and construction industry preferred
- Familiarity with environmental risk analysis
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated to learn and expand knowledge
- Strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
