Construction Project Manager - Transmission & Distribution (Great Lakes Region)

Overview

In this role, you will support EPC project leadership by managing day-to-day onsite construction activities, safety, cost, schedule, and quality across one or more projects. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful delivery from pre-construction through warranty. You'll implement project plans, manage risk and documentation, and mentor field staff, contributing to safe, on-time, and cost-effective project completion.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day construction activities and ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and manage project plans, scheduling, cost development, and staffing
  • Foster client relations and support proposals, contracts, and change orders
  • Manage safety, quality assurance, procurement, and subcontractor coordination
  • Coordinate permit procurement, RFP/bid processes, and contract administration
  • Monitor budgets, cash flow, and progress reporting; present to management
  • Support risk reviews, claims mitigation, and documentation turnover
  • Lead field staff training, staffing plans, and mentoring of team members
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, HIP/health plans, and company policies
  • Oversee documentation, insurance, licensing, bonding, and closeout activities
  • Coordinate commissioning/startup and post-project warranty processes
  • Manage craft labor classifications, rates, and labor burdens
Key requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 years of relevant project management experience in construction
  • Excellent MS Office skills; experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and PM software preferred
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail orientation
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience on construction sites or program management across multiple industries preferred
