Overview As Axon's Corporate Counsel, you will partner with sales, engineering, product, and operations to structure and negotiate complex commercial contracts for our public safety tech portfolio. You'll lead a contracting program to scale, including drafting templates, risk analyses, and a contract lifecycle system, while supervising Contracts Managers. You'll advise on regulatory and compliance matters and collaborate across teams to drive efficient, risk-balanced deals. Responsibilities- Structure, review, and negotiate contracts for goods, services, and SaaS solutions
- Supervise Contracts Managers and enforce risk guidelines
- Develop and maintain contract templates, risk analyses, and procedures
- Support contract lifecycle management system implementation and process improvements
- Provide broader legal guidance on regulatory compliance and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to scale legal support and mentorship
Key requirements- Minimum 3 years of in-house commercial contract experience
- Ability to draft and negotiate high-volume contracts (SaaS, hardware, services)
- Experience negotiating SaaS, IaaS, and/or PaaS agreements
- Ability to manage urgent requests and pivot with business needs
- JD and US state bar admission in good standing
- Experience with using AI to automate processes and streamline workflows
