Overview In this role, you will lead strategic media relations programs to raise Novo Nordisk USO's visibility and reputation among key audiences. You will work with senior leadership across functions to align external messaging with corporate goals and manage high-impact issues. You will shape media strategy, coach executives, and oversee crisis readiness to protect the company's reputation. Responsibilities- Serve as a company spokesperson and build relationships with national and local media
- Develop and implement proactive media relations programs aligned with corporate strategy
- Leverage new media channels to enhance awareness and shape stakeholder perceptions
- Direct media strategies, prepare senior leaders for interviews, and coordinate with reporters
- Lead communications excellence activities and media training for leadership development
- Ensure USO perspectives are integrated with global issues and report to USO Communications leadership
- Collaborate with Corporate Brand and Digital Communications to support reputation and executive thought leadership
- Contribute to metrics demonstrating communications value and impact
- Assess risks and issues, counsel senior leaders on response strategies, and lead crisis response
- Manage communications budgets and optimize agency spend within constraints
Key requirements- Bachelor degree (required); advanced degree preferred
- 12 years of progressive communications or public relations experience
- Experience in public relations agency and/or pharmaceutical industry preferred
- Proven skills in strategic planning, media relations, and crisis management
- Track record of developing strategic direction and delivering tangible business results
- Ability to work under tight timelines and operate in a high-pressure environment
- Strong business acumen and ability to influence leaders across levels
- Proven project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
