Overview In this onsite role at our Port Gibson facility, you will lead practical, plant-focused communications to inform and engage plant staff and external stakeholders. You'll craft clear messages about plant operations, outages, and emergencies, working closely with line leadership and cross-functional teams. You'll produce high-quality, structured documents and support media and event communications, blending strategy with hands-on execution. This is a hands-on communicator role at an industrial site with meaningful impact on safety, efficiency, and stakeholder relations.
Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Implement a plant-focused internal communications strategy to boost engagement across cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Serve as day-to-day plant communications coordinator and editor for internal site publications and employee news
- Develop and deliver employee communications (leadership messaging, meetings, newsletters) and align with brand guidelines
- Enforce graphic standards and brand usage for major plant initiatives and projects
- Support campaigns including public relations and marketing; assist with media interactions and event logistics
- Contribute to editorial standards; oversee revisions and support project management tasks (budgeting, purchasing, RFPs)
- Provide communications support for the employee speaker's bureau and executive communications
- Lead outage communications and post-outage updates, including internal and external messaging
- Facilitate a site communications team with volunteers; coordinate with site leadership and fleet communications
- Assist with media coordination for local and national outlets and develop outreach opportunities
- Support emergency response communications during drills, exercises, and real events; be available for after-hours media and crisis needs
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of communications experience
- Strong writing skills; ability to convey complex information clearly
- Experience in a nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, or plant facility environment (highly preferred)
- Proficiency in AP style; familiarity with desktop publishing and graphic design tools
- Ability to balance strategic communications planning with hands-on on-site execution
