CBTC Project Commercial Manager

Overview

In this role you drive commercial outcomes for large-scale CBTC projects with the MTA, integrating project controls, risk, and contract management. You will align commercial strategy with the PMT, finance, and legal teams to safeguard schedule, cost, and quality from start-up through closeout. You'll lead information flow, documentation, and issue resolution, while proactively identifying risk and optimizing performance. This is a full-time, onsite position with a strong impact on project delivery and client outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial and project controls oversight from start-up to closeout and dispute resolution
  • Advise on project setup aligned with project control standards
  • Develop and maintain the Commercial Management Plan (CMP) for contracts and agreements
  • Establish a Performance Oversight Management Program to monitor design-builders' progress and PMT performance
  • Conduct value engineering evaluations
  • Perform cost management, payment and invoicing functions
  • Execute risk management activities and monitor risk exposure
  • Oversee contractor achievement and reporting of diversity goals
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, legal studies or business management
  • 15 years of experience in major infrastructure or transportation capital projects
  • Expertise in construction contract change management, claims analysis, and commercial negotiations
  • Strong project controls background with cost forecasting, schedule analysis, and risk management
  • Ability to produce and present executive-level cost, schedule, risk, and performance reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with senior leadership and clients
  • Experience controlling and mitigating project costs and risk exposure
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex contractual/technical information
