Overview In this role, you will shape Applied Materials' external narrative as a technology leader in semiconductor equipment. You will develop and execute strategic PR plans that elevate the company's reputation across media, analysts, investors, and customers. You'll translate complex tech topics into clear growth stories and collaborate with Investor Relations, Government Relations, and business units to amplify impact. Responsibilities- Develop and execute PR plans for earned media and owned content to position Applied as a critical technology enabler in the AI era
- Build relationships with journalists and media partners; organize media roundtables and lead executive thought leadership initiatives
- Support major corporate announcements such as earnings, partnerships, M&A and manufacturing stories
- Lead creation of PR assets (press releases, messaging docs, Q&As, story pitches)
- Identify and manage Tier-1 speaking opportunities for senior executives and execute external communications strategy
- Collaborate with Government Relations to advance Applied's policy perspectives and engage policy reporters
- Coordinate with international communications leads on major corporate news and PR materials
- Drive story mining by engaging internal stakeholders and subject matter experts; manage the digital newsroom and owned content
- Develop tracking and reporting for corporate PR performance using a data-driven approach
Key requirements- 8-10 years of experience in B2B tech, media, or related industries
- Semiconductor industry experience preferred
- Exceptional writing skills; ability to simplify complex technology for external audiences
- Proven track record in high-impact journalism, corporate PR teams, or agencies
- Detail-oriented with strong multi-project management capabilities
- Strong journalist and influencer relationship cultivation and agency management skills
- Excellent writing ability to elevate technical messages for key audiences
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or related field
- Ability to travel up to 10%
