Pharmaceutical Development Associate Scientist II

Overview

In this role you will support formulation and process design for oral solid dosage forms and participate in clinical trial manufacturing under GMP. You will work onsite in Kansas City with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant documentation and efficient processes. You will contribute to diverse projects in a dynamic environment and help uphold regulatory standards. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to mentor others and drive quality improvements. You will be part of Catalent's mission to advance medicines and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Execute lab work plans and schedules with input from supervisors or senior team members
  • Draft technical documents (batch records, reports, SOPs) with guidance
  • Conduct parallel reviews of manufacturing docs and may perform technical accuracy checks
  • Train others on basic laboratory techniques
  • Assist in efficiency improvement projects with guidance
  • Maintain high-quality lab documentation per regulatory guidance and site procedures
  • Perform physical testing (bulk/tap density, flow analysis FT4, sieve analysis)
  • Execute procedures or methods of moderate complexity with high quality
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related life science or physical science field
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutics
  • Ability to apply mathematical and scientific reasoning
  • Basic understanding of equipment/instrument operations and troubleshooting in multiple techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of current GMPs and ability to work in a GMP environment with supervision
