Accounting Associate

In this role, you support accounting engagements by preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and assisting with tax returns for small to mid-size clients. You will manage interim accounting tasks, maintain organized work papers, and ensure timely delivery within budgets. You'll contribute to engagement planning and help identify unrecorded liabilities, supporting auditors and reviewers. This position offers hands-on experience in accounting services and tax work within a collaborative environment.

• Prepare financial statements
• Reconcile bank accounts and trace discrepancies
• Reconcile subsidiary accounts to control accounts
• Perform interim accounting services for small companies
• Assist with engagement planning
• Prepare and organize substantiating work papers
• Extract leases, minutes, and prepare journal entry transmittals
• Search for unrecorded liabilities by reviewing payables and post-balance data
• Take ownership of engagements and meet deadlines/budgets
• Update depreciation/amortization and enter asset activity into depreciation software
• Prepare payroll tax, sales tax, local taxes and basic to mid-level income tax returns
• Compile raw data into trial balance format
• Prepare tax returns using proprietary software
• Prepare tax adjusting journal entries and import into tax software
• Overtime as required
