Overview In this role you will lead the Section of Colorectal Surgery within UCSF's Division of Surgical Oncology, overseeing clinical, academic, research, and administrative activities. You will manage a team of surgeons and healthcare professionals, advance innovative colorectal techniques, and promote interdisciplinary approaches to patient care. The position emphasizes research productivity and education, with opportunities for dedicated research time and faculty development. Responsibilities- Oversee all clinical, academic, research, and administrative activities in the Section of Colorectal Surgery
- Lead a team of surgeons and healthcare professionals
- Promote innovative colorectal surgical techniques and advance research in malignant and benign colorectal disease
- Provide exceptional patient care and collaborate across departments for interdisciplinary care
- Engage in program building, leadership, communication, and collaboration
- Participate in education of residents, medical students, and trainees; contribute to training programs
- Engage in university service, Grand Rounds, M&M conferences, quality assurance, and continuing education
- Advance the mission of the Section and Division of Surgical Oncology
Key requirements- Board certification by the American Board of General Surgery
- Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology with colorectal focus
