Overview

As Lab Manager, Analytical Laboratories, you will lead day-to-day operations, safety, compliance, and performance of analytical labs supporting process development and GMP testing. You will partner with multiple functional teams to ensure readiness and alignment with priorities, while driving continuous improvement and scalability as Lilly expands the Medicine Foundry. You will shape lab productivity through digitalization and data-driven strategies, directly impacting manufacturing support and regulatory readiness. This role offers involvement in a pioneering, cross-functional expansion from design to steady-state operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily analytical laboratory operations to ensure safe, efficient, compliant execution
  • Ensure readiness for new programs, equipment, method transfers, and facility expansions
  • Develop resource plans, schedules, and capacity forecasts aligned with business needs
  • Serve as primary escalation point for laboratory operational issues
  • Foster safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards
  • Maintain inspection readiness and support regulatory inspections/audits
  • Oversee equipment lifecycle, procurement, qualification, calibration, maintenance, and retirement
  • Manage laboratory asset inventories, consumables, reagents, and materials
  • Drive productivity, automation, digitalization, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across analytical, process development, manufacturing, and quality
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology or related scientific discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years in pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology, or process development labs
  • Experience managing laboratory operations in a regulated environment
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory with proper PPE
