Overview

In this Senior Cost Estimator role, you will lead the development of accurate cost estimates for major water infrastructure projects, guiding project outcomes and client satisfaction. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams to analyze costs, manage estimation databases, and advise on value-driven decisions. Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate and produce detailed cost estimates for major capital and construction projects
  • Analyze costs, materials, labor, bid docs and specs to prepare reliable estimates
  • Design, implement and maintain cost estimating databases across software tools
  • Collaborate on drawings/specifications review for value management and cost control
  • Validate estimates against market conditions and third-party projections; provide guidance on large/complex projects
  • Perform quantity take-offs for large concrete structures (formwork, reinforcement, embedded metals) and contribute to master construction schedule
  • Write Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports
  • Engage in client cost estimate and schedule reviews to align with project goals
  • Assess site-specific risks (labor, equipment, materials) and develop estimating criteria
  • Collaborate with design team to resolve critical path issues
  • Support staffing and technical development of US resources within the team
  • Office-based with possible field work
Key requirements
  • Minimum 15 years in cost estimating, CM, or related fields
  • Experience creating construction cost estimates and schedules at various design stages per AACEI guidelines
  • Proficiency in MCACES, MII, Sage for cost estimation and risk analysis
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Strong problem-solving ability and professional judgment; collaborative mindset
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with cross-functional teams
