Overview

In this role you will support all phases of the design build delivery, focusing on programming, design, quality, and best practices. You will contribute to design reviews and coordinate with project teams to align vision, function, aesthetics, and financial goals with Holland's core values. You'll drive ESG alignment, project feasibility studies, and constructability input, helping to shape high impact residential and mixed use developments. This is a hands on, cross functional role that blends design leadership with practical delivery. You will work closely with teams to advance standards, resources, and brand consistency across projects.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to design and technical reviews on layout, programming, constructability, detailing, coordination, code, accessibility, and sustainability
  • Partner with project teams during design and construction, attending meetings and guiding design studies
  • Implement best practices aligned with Holland's ESG goals
  • Prepare and review yield studies during project pursuits
  • Resolve complex design challenges with team collaboration
  • Support construction phase activities including site visits, permitting, RFI and submittal reviews, and subcontractor responses
  • Support accessibility reliance and property condition assessments
  • Develop and maintain internal design resources, guidelines, templates, and lessons learned
  • Support departmental and company initiatives (ESG, GRESB, tech adoption, process improvements, asset management, standards updates)
  • Collaborate on interior design during construction to align with brand standards, design intent, and budget
  • Attend design meetings, assist with RFPs, coordinate with consultants, and review design and finish selections
  • Represent the company professionally at all times
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in architectural consulting or multi family design (garden, mid rise, high rise)
  • Experience with mixed-use buildings, interiors, site design and construction document production, and construction administration preferred
  • Knowledge of multifamily design, construction, and operational processes
  • Understanding of building and zoning codes, accessibility, constructability, and how details relate to the whole project
  • Basic knowledge of building science, energy codes, and sustainability
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines
  • Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft 365; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam; ability to use company software
