Overview In this role you will lead delivery of high-profile rail infrastructure, supporting the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project as part of Arcadis' Delivery Partner team. You will oversee construction across systems, civil works, and facilities, while coordinating complex multi-contract interfaces in an active railroad environment. You'll drive safety, quality, and schedule performance and prepare the project for testing and handover. Responsibilities- Review construction work plans and monitor compliance and environmental permitting
- Provide leadership and oversight across systems, civil works, structures, and vertical facilities
- Manage multi-contract interfaces including tunneling, surface alignment, and systems installation
- Oversee delivery of major facilities such as fan plants, shafts, and ancillary buildings
- Lead a large field team including Resident Engineers, inspectors, and CM staff
- Coordinate trackwork installation, tunnel concrete, and site/civil infrastructure in active railroad operations
- Support integration of rail systems (traction power, signals, comms, ventilation, control)
- Ensure readiness for testing, commissioning, and handover
- Monitor contractor performance on safety, quality, and schedule
- Resolve field issues related to constructability, sequencing, and access constraints
Key requirements- Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale rail infrastructure projects
- Experience leading large field teams (inspectors, resident engineers)
- Experience in both heavy civil and vertical building/facilities construction
- Desirable experience coordinating with Amtrak projects
- Experience in multi-contract, interface-intensive environments
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
