Overview As Architect - Engineering you will provide architectural support for SRR projects at Savannah River Site, applying facility design and code-compliant methods. You will collaborate with cross-discipline teams to develop design criteria, conceptual designs, drawings, and fire protection solutions, while ensuring adherence to SRR processes. This role supports environmental management-focused engagements for government and private clients, delivering robust documentation and closeout. You'll work in a mission-driven, security-conscious environment that values precision and professional conduct. This is a hands-on role with impact on facility layout, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities- Analyze existing facilities and space planning; develop design criteria and conceptual design; produce construction drawings
- Provide fire protection design including barriers and penetration seals; coordinate with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Research materials and develop specifications; prepare CSI-formatted specifications
- Conduct building code research, analysis and compliance; review vendor documents
- Oversee construction activities and project closeout per SRR processes
- Utilize MicroStation CAD (and AutoCAD with willingness to learn MicroStation) to support project deliverables
- Ensure thorough, accurate work products aligned with milestones and delivery schedules
Key requirements- Consecutive employment in a similar role within the past five years
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- Industrial facility layout design experience
- Familiarity with IBC, AISC, AWS, NFPA, OSHA, CFR and ADA
- Working knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code 101
- Experience with CSI specifications; fire protection design skills
- MicroStation CAD experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD/MicroStation
- BS Degree in Architecture or current Architectural Registration
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
- Security clearance readiness or ability to obtain
