Overview In this Technologist Trainee role with Labcorp's Special Coagulation team, you contribute to accurate specimen testing and reliable results that support patient care. You work within a cross-functional lab setting, learning to operate and troubleshoot instruments, evaluate reagents, and uphold quality standards. This position provides formal training and a pathway to specialized coagulation testing expertise. You partner with teammates to maintain safety, accuracy, and timely reporting in a mission-driven diagnostics environment.

Responsibilities- Assess specimen acceptability against criteria
- Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs
- Monitor and troubleshoot instruments to ensure performance
- Make technical decisions in testing and problem solving
- Prepare and evaluate reagents or controls
- Report accurate test results for patient care
- Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control
- Replenish testing bench supplies
- Assist with specimen processing when needed
- Maintain safe work environment and PPE usage
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience (preferred)
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- High attention to detail; strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
