Overview In this role you lead the Quality Team to ensure raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods meet specifications and customer expectations. You will drive quality across two QC laboratories, manage supplier and customer quality interfaces, and push continuous improvement to elevate product quality and efficiency. You'll apply structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and metrics-driven decisions to reduce waste and risk. This position offers strategic influence within a safety-conscious, customer-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Quality Team (Engineer, Claims Analyst, Specialist, Incoming Inspector, 16 Technicians)
- Oversee raw material incoming inspection and vendor corrective actions
- Manage daily QC laboratory operations and ensure accurate testing and reporting
- Lead internal quality training and influence quality standards
- Make disposition decisions for nonconforming materials
- Report quality performance and analyze customer claims for trends
- Conduct statistical analysis to guide priorities
- Lead root-cause problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
- Perform internal quality audits and drive waste reduction and efficiency
- Maintain documentation and support customer quality surveys
- Collaborate with R&D/Technical Service to meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with Procurement to ensure supplier material quality
- Collaborate with Operations to resolve product quality issues
- Maintain a safe work environment and travel to customers/suppliers as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Technical Director

Key requirements- BS in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
- 5+ years quality management in manufacturing
- 5+ years leadership with direct reports
- Knowledge of statistical methods and process control
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred
- Background in labels, packaging, or paper science preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 compliance
- Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
