Overview In this role you will help implement a nationwide Pre-Construction program for Amazon's data center campuses. You will act as the primary liaison among Real Estate, Design Engineering, and Due Diligence groups to forecast schedules, manage budgets, and provide constructability guidance. The role demands extensive hands-on construction experience with bidding, contracting, and construction documents to support infrastructure projects. You will work to ensure safe, efficient, scalable data center construction that aligns with AWS objectives.

Responsibilities- Perform constructability reviews of critical data center scopes to improve baselines
- Evaluate build phasing across civil, structural, and electrical domains for site prospects
- Define site requirements affecting schedule, cost, and integration with surrounding property
- Negotiate with land sellers, developers, and GCs; evaluate bids and scoping documents
- Manage GC and other preconstruction vendors during design phase
- Define construction scopes and issue RFPs to General Contractors; review bid summaries and milestones
- Support contracting documents issuance (Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Work Letters)
- Develop handoff project documentation to Construction Manager partners
- Collect and share lessons learned to improve the program
- Travel up to 25%
Key requirements- 5+ years of construction or project management experience
- Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains
- Preferred: knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
- Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure
