Overview

In this role you support Netflix's film and TV productions by guiding IP, personality rights, and fair use considerations. You will collaborate with producers and creative teams to review materials and negotiate licenses, while building and maintaining workflows for clearance and managing the clip licensing program. You help balance legal risk with creative needs, enabling efficient decision making in a fast-paced environment. This position offers a key opportunity to shape production processes within a leading entertainment studio.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on intellectual property, personality rights, and fair use for scripts, art, wardrobe, and production materials
  • Review and organize high volumes of scripts, research reports, license agreements, and clearance documents
  • Negotiate and draft license agreements when needed
  • Establish and maintain internal and cross-functional clearance workflows
  • Manage Netflix's clip licensing program
  • Collaborate with producers, writers, and production personnel to support fast-paced clearance activities
  • Contribute to risk assessment and strategic thinking around production clearance
  • Adapt to evolving creative and business needs with flexible problem-solving
Key requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of legal clearance experience in film and television advising on IP, personality rights, and fair use
  • Experience supporting scripted film and television productions
  • Strong attention to detail and persistence in handling ongoing requests
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to drive efficiency and manage risk tolerance in production clearance
  • Flexible mindset to tackle matters outside core expertise
  • Prior experience negotiating and drafting license agreements in a production environment is preferred but not required
