Overview In this role you will support conflicts clearance and lateral onboarding for partners and hires, ensuring compliant client intake and matter openings. You will work with cross-functional teams to streamline transitions and manage conflict risks aligned with the firm's growth strategy. You'll advise on conflicts, engage with international teams, and help update risk policies. The position offers exposure to complex regulatory considerations and opportunities to shape intake processes in a global law firm.
Responsibilities- Review and clear conflicts for incoming submissions and lateral transfers; support onboarding and matter openings
- Coordinate with recruiting, BD, practice groups, and admin to facilitate smooth intake and transitions
- Assess conflicts and research as needed; communicate with candidates about potential issues
- Advise on conflicts provisions in engagements and waivers; draft conflict waivers as appropriate
- Contribute to risk management policies and procedures with NBE&R and related teams
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting new business intake and client acceptance
- Assist with information barriers, audits, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain accurate records in conflicts and intake systems
- Support software development and testing for new intake processes
- Provide escalation and guidance to Conflicts Analysts and foreign-qualified lawyers
Key requirements- Admitted as an Attorney in New York or another US state
- Commercial awareness and understanding of risk in a law firm
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication with senior staff
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to receive training on firm systems and policies
- Trustworthiness with confidential material
