You work within a team to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, validate new reagents, and maintain quality controls. Responsibilities- Determine specimen acceptability for testing according to criteria
- Perform routine and complex procedures following SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function
- Make technical testing decisions and solve problems
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
- Conduct preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed
- Assist with specimen processing when required
- Maintain a safe work environment and PPE usage
Key requirements- Bachelor in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies
- Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Strong attention to detail, with good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle physical requirements of the position
- Ability to pass a standardized color vision test
