Overview As Site Technical Manager you will lead the site's technical function to uphold food safety, quality and regulatory compliance. You will shape a strong food safety culture and ensure compliance with customer, certification and export requirements. Working with the Site Management Team, you'll drive continuous improvement in technical performance and support audits and inspections. This role offers strategic influence on processes and projects that impact product quality and compliance across the site.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage food safety, quality, legality and compliance systems across the site
- Coach and develop the Site Technical Team with a focus on performance and accountability
- Embed a positive food safety culture throughout the site
- Act as site lead for HACCP, VACCP and TACCP
- Maintain and improve compliance with BRCGS, customer standards and export requirements
- Collaborate with Site Management on technical input for projects and processes
- Lead technical matters during audits, visits and regulatory inspections
- Establish and review technical KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Oversee supplier and traded goods approval and monitor supplier performance
- Create, review and control product specifications
- Support wider technical projects across the business
Key requirements- Strong track record in food technical management in manufacturing
- Experience leading and developing technical teams
- Proven experience in audits (customer, certification, regulatory)
- Deep understanding of food safety systems, quality standards and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management
- Ability to collaborate with operations and senior management while providing technical leadership
