Overview

In this role you deliver hands-on HR support for a portfolio of clients while supervising HR Associates and Senior Associates. You'll ensure high-quality, compliant HR deliverables across the hire-to-retire lifecycle and act as a first-line reviewer to uphold RSM's standards. The position blends execution with team leadership and offers growth toward broader engagement leadership. Located flexibly near any RSM US office, you'll work with cross-functional teams to optimize HR processes and client outcomes. This is a key contributor role in the HRO practice with impact on multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hands-on HR delivery across the hire-to-retire lifecycle (ER, compliance reviews, policy docs, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS administration)
  • Supervise daily work of HR Associates and Senior Associates, delegating tasks and managing workloads
  • Review deliverables for accuracy and adherence to RSM methodology
  • Provide practical HR guidance on low-to-mid level issues and escalate complex matters to Manager
  • Support HR compliance assessments and process reviews, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain repeatable HR processes, playbooks, templates, and job aids
  • Track deliverables and timelines, monitor utilization, and flag risks
  • Coach and mentor junior team members to strengthen HR domain and HRIS skills
  • Adapt to client changes and shifting priorities with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Contribute to proposals and business development with HR subject-matter expertise
  • Perform other duties to support client engagements and growth of the HRO practice
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration
  • SHRM and/or HRCI certification required
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including coordinating or supervising others
  • Hands-on HR lifecycle experience (ER, compliance, policy, HR operations)
  • Experience with multi-state employment, wage & hour, and leave compliance
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • HRIS experience with platforms like Rippling, ADP, Paychex, UKG, Paylocity or similar
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to adapt to ambiguity and changing client needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building with teams and clients
