Overview

As Staff People Business Partner, you will shape HR strategies to support Aurora's rapid growth and safety-focused mission. You'll bridge executive vision with functional execution, leading large-scale programs and org design across business units. You'll partner with senior leaders to align priorities, optimize processes, and build scalable People systems in a fast-changing startup. This is an impact role at the core of scaling the People function while enhancing organizational health and cross-functional collaboration. You'll operate in a hybrid, high-energy environment that values clarity, data-driven decisions, and action.

Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic programs (e.g., org redesigns, talent initiatives) with broad applicability across units
  • Advise functional leaders with deep HR expertise to guide decisions
  • Manage stakeholder alignment and effectively cascade information to teams
  • Diagnose bottlenecks in organizational systems and implement scalable collaboration models
  • Identify talent gaps using data-driven insights and lead workforce planning
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, ER, and other teams to ensure integrated solutions
  • Contribute in a fast-scaling startup environment by building foundational People processes
  • Navigate ambiguity with clear judgment and bias for action
  • Demonstrate agility and resilience amid shifting priorities
Key requirements
  • Recognized authority in HR business partnering with experience in fast-paced or tech-heavy environments
  • Strong ability to navigate senior stakeholders and manage upward/downward information flow
  • Systemic problem-solving approach with sustainable, interdependent solutions
  • Data-informed execution translating metrics into actionable plans
  • Proven change leadership guiding teams through large-scale transitions
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; advanced degree or HR certification preferred
  • Travel up to 10% within the U.S.
  • Willingness to be in the office at least 3 days per week
