Overview In this role you will operate as a hands-on System Administrator for the Hardware Platform Solutions (HPS) group, owning the daily provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of specialized R&D toolchains. You will enable a global network of Design Centers, removing environment blocks to boost developer productivity through rapid, automated workflows. This position drives engineering velocity by maintaining toolchains and secure DevOps practices in a high-performance product development setting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to shape a scalable, reliable engineering environment.
Responsibilities- Execute onboarding provisioning with automated playbooks to close the Day 1 productivity gap
- Manage daily installation, configuration, packaging, and integration of R&D software across lab systems and cloud workstations
- Provide hands-on engineering support bridging corporate IT and engineering teams to resolve environment blocks
- Deploy, license, and configure EDA/CAD toolchains (PTC Creo, Windchill, SolidWorks, Cadence, Synopsys, Ansys, etc.)
- Maintain toolchains and high-availability for hardware engineering suites and license servers (FlexLM, RMS)
- Administer ALM/DevOps workflows and container platforms (Azure DevOps, Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Support secure development lifecycle tooling and compilers (Green Hills MULTI, Black Duck, Coverity, Defensics)
- Oversee validation/lab synchronization tools (Ixia IxNetwork, Spirent, Wireshark, LabVIEW, TestStand)
Key requirements- Hands-on experience installing, patching, configuring, and deploying major EDA/CAD suites
- Practical admin experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes
- Functional knowledge of license management environments (FlexLM, RMS)
- Cross-platform OS familiarity (Windows, Linux variants like Ubuntu/ Rocky Linux) and enterprise endpoint config (BigFix, ThreatLocker)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 5+ years in enterprise IT/system administration or application engineering; 2+ years supporting active R&D teams
