Overview

In this Cybersecurity Architect role, you will ensure secure implementations and ongoing maintenance of security controls aligned with RMF v5 for a DoD-focused environment. You will prepare and manage ATO packages and security documentation, collaborating with IT counterparts to translate complex security concepts for non-technical audiences. The position offers impact through shaping security posture, risk management, and incident response across Windows, Unix, Linux, databases, and networked systems. You will work onsite in the Baltimore area and contribute to a mission-critical, government-driven cyber program.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain RMF v5 security controls and in-place risk management
  • Manage ATO packages and POAM lifecycle using eMASS
  • Draft and update security documentation (CSS, SSP, SSPP, SSP) per DoD/DAF policies
  • Coordinate STIG remediation and work with system admins and developers
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor security incidents and responses
  • Collaborate with IT counterparts and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Support cloud work with AWS/Azure as applicable
  • Ensure security authorization processes are complete and compliant
Key requirements
  • Expert knowledge of RMF v5 and related processes (documentation, workflow)
  • Strong experience with eMASS for RMF activities
  • Ability to write security policies and procedures (CSS, SSP, SSPP) and assess ATO artifacts
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility
  • CompTIA Security+ and/or CASP+ certifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience (or advanced degrees with fewer years)
  • Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux, networks, databases, web servers, VPNs
  • Cloud experience with AWS and Azure (preferred)
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
