Overview

In this role you drive cost management for UK infrastructure projects, from early cost advice to final accounts. You will lead client relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery within the Infrastructure team. The position blends both strategic oversight and hands-on project cost work across large schemes, with opportunities to influence procurement and contract strategies. You'll work in a collaborative, growth-focused environment that values expertise and client impact.

Responsibilities
  • Support Business Unit Directors in achieving objectives
  • Grow and maintain customer relationships
  • Deliver cost management deliverables aligned with client needs
  • Manage projects to meet business procedures and quality standards
  • Prepare and present cost estimates and option studies
  • Cost planning and benchmarking; cost-in-use studies
  • Advise on procurement strategies; value completed work; arrange payments
  • Settle final accounts; provide technical contractual guidance; administer contracts
  • Manage service delivery for profitability; flag issues impacting PI insurance
  • Identify new business opportunities and drive growth across Business Units
Key requirements
  • Proven background on UK infrastructure projects across water, utilities, rail, highways or aviation
  • Experience with NEC3/4 contracts
  • Broad post-MRICS cost management experience
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimating, cost planning, procurement strategies, and post-contract cost management
  • Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator
  • Understanding of legislation impacting building contracts
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication; methodical, analytical, and numerate
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to prepare bids and negotiate fees to achieve profit
  • Motivation and leadership to guide high-performance teams
