Overview

In this Counsel role, you will advise Amgen's Global Commercial Operations on regulatory and legal issues affecting promotion, patient support programs, contracting, and education for biopharmaceutical products. You'll help navigate fraud and abuse considerations, assess risks in patient programs, and guide cross-functional teams through evolving health-care laws. The position sits at the intersection of law, policy, and business strategy, supporting compliant commercial activities. You'll work in a collaborative, science-driven culture that values impact, speed, and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Counsel on fraud and abuse matters related to healthcare interactions (e.g., payers, providers, patient advocacy groups) with focus on AKS and False Claims Act
  • Assess legal risk in proposed and ongoing patient support programs
  • Review and approve promotional, educational, and patient support materials and programs
  • Advise stakeholders on legal, regulatory, and policy developments to adapt to a changing environment
  • Provide guidance on sales and marketing strategies in light of regulatory constraints
  • Coordinate legal support as part of cross-functional teams with business and law department colleagues
Key requirements
  • J.D. degree or LL.M. from an accredited law school
  • admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • two (2) years of legal experience
  • preferred: 4+ years of corporate, government, and/or law firm experience
  • strong oral/written communication, legal analysis, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • ability to lead and influence others
  • strong client service and problem-solving focus
  • ability to manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
  • experience with health care law (AKS, False Claims Act, FDCA, Medicare/Medicaid/340B) is a plus
