Overview In this role you will advance analytical, proteomic, and metabolomic methods to optimize a semi-synthetic E. coli platform for novel protein therapeutics. You will collaborate across teams to quantify expression yields and fidelity of non-canonical amino acid incorporation, and to explore organism physiology through metabolomics and proteomics. This position offers the chance to shape a fast-moving program focused on high-impact protein production and platform optimization. You'll work at the intersection of analytical science, collaboration, and cutting-edge biotechnology to enable therapeutic protein development.
Responsibilities- Serve as analytical SME and partner across the company
- Develop chromatography and mass spectrometry methods to characterize expressed proteins and assess yields and non-canonical amino acid incorporation fidelity
- Analyze organism physiology via metabolomics and proteomics to drive optimization
- Collaborate with colleagues across facets of semi-synthetic organism development
- Contribute to fast-paced projects with evolving goals and cross-functional teams
- Maintain rigorous documentation and communicate results effectively
- Support validation and quality aspects related to analytical methods
- Stay current with analytical instrumentation and software relevant to proteomics/metabolomics
Key requirements- PhD in analytical chemistry, proteomics, or metabolomics
- Strong background in chromatographic separation and biophysical characterization techniques
- Experience with or familiarity of Agilent LC & Q-TOF LC/MS
- Familiarity with OpenLab/Chromeleon software is a plus
- Proficiency in routine MS-based protein characterization
- Excellent written and oral communication, strong organizational skills
