Overview In this role you will provide comprehensive building surveying services to a diverse client base within the Birmingham hub, supporting both external clients and in-house teams. You will manage multiple projects, contribute to fee generation, and help drive the Building Consultancy and Commercial teams' objectives. You'll operate in a multi-disciplinary environment across Commercial, Rural, Residential and Infrastructure sectors, delivering high-quality surveys, refurbishment works, and maintenance strategies. This is a client-facing position with opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and shape project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Carry out full building surveying services for external and internal clients
- Support archi tecture and Building Consultancy workload sharing
- Conduct building surveys on commercial and residential properties
- Prepare Schedules of Dilapidations and negotiate with opposing parties
- Project management, contract administration and design for refurbishments, conversions and new builds
- Prepare feasibility studies in collaboration with other disciplines
- Undertake Principal Designer duties for small projects to CDM 2015 requirements
- Provide Party Wall Act services to building and adjoining owners
- Prepare and negotiate Schedules of Condition
- Advise on Preventative Planned Maintenance strategies
- Investigate and advise on building defects and problems
- Conduct Development Monitoring for landlords, tenants or lenders
- Provide Reinstatement Cost Advice across UK property types
- Undertake DDA access audits
- Manage and coach junior team members
- Maintain effective client relationships and support new business development
Key requirements- RICS chartered
- experience in a commercial consultancy setting
