Overview As a Mutual Fund Accounting Operations Specialist, you will interpret and apply corporate action events for registered funds and ETFs, ensuring accurate processing in fund accounting systems. You'll serve as a subject matter expert, reviewing announcements, assessing portfolio impacts, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to resolve complex actions. You contribute to an audit-ready, risk-aware operation while driving process improvements. Responsibilities- Research, interpret, and process mandatory and voluntary corporate actions affecting mutual funds and ETFs
- Analyze announcements to determine appropriate accounting and operational treatment
- Validate action details from custodians, vendors, issuers, and other sources
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of corporate actions in fund accounting systems
- Investigate and resolve breaks, discrepancies, and exceptions related to corporate actions
- Assess portfolio impacts and communicate operational implications to stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to resolve complex corporate action issues
- Maintain controls and documentation to support audit, compliance, and risk management
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- One to two years of experience in accounting or finance activities
- Experience in fund accounting, custody operations, securities operations, or corporate actions
- Strong understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, and financial instruments
- Knowledge of mandatory and voluntary corporate action event types and accounting impacts
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot and other tech solutions to improve research and efficiency
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
