Overview

In this role you will apply accounting principles to analyze, record, and report on vendor-funded incentive programs and advertising activities. You will interpret complex vendor agreements under ASC 705-20 and GAAP, partnering with cross-functional teams to understand program structures and implications. You will ensure timely closes, prepare analyses and reports, and guide non-financial areas on accounting impact. You will act as the expert for vendor funding and advertising accounting, driving efficient processes and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and record financial information related to vendor funding and advertising programs
  • Interpret vendor agreements under ASC 705-20 and GAAP and determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Collaborate with Product, Partner Management, Procurement, Marketing, FP&A, Revenue Accounting and others to understand program structures
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and manage monthly/quarterly/year-end closes
  • Establish and monitor accounting controls; resolve discrepancies independently
  • Guide non-financial areas on accounting rationale and reporting impact
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and oversee offshore MSP team to ensure high-quality execution
  • Prepare for audits and support the audit process
  • Continually analyze results, explain variances, and identify process improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve business results and processes
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or related financial field; 3+ years of accounting or financial audit experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and finance principles; strong technical accounting skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Problem analysis, proactive problem solving, and initiative for process improvements
  • Strong negotiation skills to influence stakeholders
  • CPA and Big 4 audit experience are a plus
