Overview In this role you will manage patient intake and coordinate admissions for behavioral health services. You work closely with Admission Counselors to ensure eligible patients are admitted smoothly and promptly. You will handle front-desk duties, data collection, and liaison with referral sources and families to support timely access to care. Your empathetic, professional approach helps patients navigate the admission process while safeguarding safety and compliance. This position offers meaningful impact by enabling access to needed treatment and coordinating cross functional efforts.
Responsibilities- Greet and screen new patients and transport arrivals
- Review prospective admissions with Admission Counselor against criteria and policies
- Schedule assessments for voluntary patients
- Respond promptly to inquiry calls
- Handle clerical duties including data entry and phones
- Initiate collection of clinical and demographic data from patients and sources
- Assist patients and families in seeking treatment
- Assist in registration of patients to the assigned program
- Ensure timely completion and distribution of admission paperwork
- Refer inquiries to other agencies when admission is not appropriate
- Coordinate with referral sources and arrange patient transportation
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude and address complaints
- Ensure patient safety is a priority
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree required
- 1+ year of healthcare admissions experience required
- Experience preferred in mental health or substance abuse field
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required
- First aid may be required by state or facility
- Certification preferences: LPN, CAC, CCDC, or CEAP (preferred)
