Overview

In this role you help drive cost accuracy and project viability for complex life sciences facilities. You'll collaborate with design and CQV teams to develop cost-effective estimates across feasibility to buyout, engaging with trade partners in targeted regions. Your work directly supports securing proposals and guiding project execution from estimating through construction administration. The position offers exposure to global, multidisciplinary projects and opportunities to influence budgeting, procurement, and scheduling. You will contribute to IPS's mission of integrated, end-to-end delivery and client partnership.

Responsibilities
  • Create organized, high-quality estimates for all construction project portions and related clarifications.
  • Prepare estimates from feasibility to detailed designs and from small to large-scale jobs.
  • Review plans, specs, takeoffs, I&C, and documents to understand the estimate scope.
  • Collaborate with design and CQV teams to propose cost-effective alternatives.
  • Manage estimating process from bidding to delivery, including purchasing, scheduling, and construction administration.
  • Develop labor and material costs with accurate quantity take-offs; adjust for overhead and profit.
  • Maintain relationships with design teams, subcontractors, OEMs, suppliers, and trade contractors.
  • Coordinate with Design Group construction teams to keep cost data current.
  • Travel as needed for project visits, meetings, or installations.
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of construction cost estimating experience focused on Life Science/Pharmaceutical estimating from conceptual to buyout.
  • Proven estimating practices and proficiency with estimating software.
  • Experience with on-screen takeoff or Bluebeam and estimating databases.
  • Strong knowledge of CSI Estimating Format and Excel-based proposals.
  • Experience using historical cost data and maintaining subcontractor networks.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects; strong scheduling understanding.
  • Experience with large commercial/industrial projects (greenfield and renovations).
  • Read and interpret construction, installation, and IFC documents; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Procore & Project.
