Overview In this role you will advise on Verizon's financial products and services, including device payment initiatives and the Verizon Visa Card, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong risk management. You will collaborate with Consumer and Business groups to align with laws, train internal teams, and negotiate with third parties. You'll handle regulatory examinations and changes in federal/state law that affect products and disclosures. This is a fast-paced, cross-functional legal role that drives compliant product innovation and trusted partnerships. Responsibilities- Support device payment program by advising on new initiatives, handling regulatory filings and examinations
- Serve as primary product lawyer for Verizon's financial products including Verizon Visa Card and Openbank partnership
- Evaluate impacts of changes to state and federal laws affecting financial products and services
- Collaborate with Consumer and Business groups to develop compliant communications and training materials
- Negotiate and draft agreements, amendments, and side letters with third-party financial and insurance partners
- Maintain processes for reviewing marketing materials and disclosures
Key requirements- JD Degree
- Six or more years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with CFPB rules and regulations, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA/Reg V, TILA/Reg Z, and UDAAPs
- Background in financial services, fintech or credit card industry including compliance, payments, and card processing
- Knowledge of consumer credit cards, lending, installment sales or other consumer financial products
- Experience leading, initiating, and implementing projects
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage time and priorities in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment
