Overview

As a Senior Estimator at Performance Contracting, you will lead the estimating process for Cincinnati projects, translating plans into accurate takeoffs and competitive bids. You'll collaborate with owners, managers, architects, and subcontractors to align proposals with client needs and company goals. The role blends technical rigor with strategic bid planning, shaping profitable, well-supported tenders. You'll mentor teammates, manage key metrics, and contribute to bid strategy for major pursuits.

Compensation / Benefits
  • salary range: $102,000-$120,000
  • non-guaranteed annual bonus program

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and evaluate RFPs for relevant scopes
  • Analyze subcontractor quotes for alignment with bid documents
  • Build and maintain relationships with local customers to support alignment objectives
  • Collaborate with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Attend pre-bid site walkthroughs
  • Create detailed quantity takeoffs and estimates
  • Break projects into functional stages and review schedules
  • Write precise proposals ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Perform bid analyses and bid reviews; prepare financial job cost analyses
  • Source subcontractors, materials, and equipment with price evaluation
  • Provide training and leadership to estimating team as needed
  • Maintain accountability for business metrics and sales plans
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings for major pursuits
Key requirements
  • 5-7 years' experience estimating construction projects
  • 10+ total years in the construction industry
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
  • Record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to read project schedules for sequencing and durations
  • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid)
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Plan Swift
  • Ability to work in team and independently
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of product lines/scopes
