Overview In this role you will lead and optimize multi-state US and Canada payroll, including equity-related tasks, while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will work cross-functionally with Employee Success, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to sustain data integrity and improve payroll operations. You will develop a remote payroll team and maintain SOX controls, balancing speed with accuracy. Responsibilities- Manage semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll across US states and Canada, including equity-related tasks
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll taxes and multi-state employment requirements
- Drive payroll process improvements and automation
- Collaborate with Employee Success, Accounting, IT, and vendors to resolve issues and improve operations
- Lead and develop a remote payroll team with cross-training and reliable coverage
- Stay current on evolving payroll compliance requirements
- Coordinate payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations with Accounting
- Oversee payroll-related SOX controls and respond to audit requests
Key requirements- Progressive payroll experience
- 5+ years in payroll management
- Hands-on multi-state US and Canada payroll processing
- Experience with Workday and ADP
- Experience processing equity compensation (RSUs and stock options) and related taxes
- Experience with mobility tax (state-to-state or country-to-country)
